Happy Birthday Kent!

Happy Birthday big guy! I'm glad that you'll always be older than me. For some reason that makes me feel better about turning 30.

We have another birthday today!

Meet Kayla Ann Howell, Born 4/15/08 about 1:45 pm. Look at those rolls! Yes she is a big girl. 9lbs 9 ozs!! 21.5 inches with quite a bit of red/blonde hair.
Gorgeous mom Tori, way to go mom we are very proud of you...
Proud dad Kent, I think she definitely looks like she belongs to the family, don't you?
Isn't she beautiful?
One brother is thrilled and the look on Braydens face is priceless. I think he is not real sure what is happening yet. Grandma is dying to get her face into all of those cheeks.

I will let Kent tell you more about what is happening with them, but I couldn't wait to share a few pics.

We love you Kayla, I know Great grandma Denny kissed those ample cheeks and told you how much she loves you before you came to earth.

What a miracle!!

Love you all

Dominican Republic

As some of you may or may not know, I just got back last week from a dental trip to the Dominican Republic! We were there for 8 days, 4 of which were spent giving free dental care from morning until night to as many people as we could see. Thank you to those who helped our cause, there will be cards in the mail soon! The people there are very poor and welcomed us with open arms. We spent two out of the four days at schools where we saw over 1000 kids! The people would come from all around to see us and would literally do anything to get to the front of the line because it was "free" care. Here are a few pictures I thought I would share:

There were news cameras that followed us from place to place each day, and we were on the news and in two different newspapers. I actually had my picture in the paper called 'Hoy' and I got back to my hotel that night and tried to find a copy and I couldn't find one!! The head Senator of their government paid us a visit each day with his entourage which brought the cameras and big crowds. He took all the credit for us being there because it was election week and it made him look good, even though he didn't know anything about it until the week before. He bought us lunches each day, and provided the security in the top picture, so we didn't mind so much!

We had portable equipment that a dentist there stores for us between trips. This little boy didn't want to leave his mom, so we had to find him a sucker to keep him occupied so that I could get something done! This is in one of their schools.....it was very interesting to see that they don't really have any glass anywhere on their windows, just slats they can open or close to let the breeze through. Everything is out in the open, they just have gates on everything. Those kids were lined up before we could even get our stuff unloaded from the bus!! There was hardly anyone there when we arrived!

This was the street where we decided to stop and set up our "circus tent" clinic for the day in the middle of the street. This was the first of the 4 days, and was actually my birthday. People would drive up and honk a million times then some guy on a microphone would tell them to turn around and go another way. It was kinda crazy. People would just stand there and watch us do everything.....they were so interested we had to put walls around the tent for some kind of order. It was very hot in there....and the people there don't really believe in order anyway apparently!
This is me with a couple of my classmates at the beach. We got to relax for a couple of days before flying home! The sun was nice, we don't see much of it here in Cleveland! I feel very blessed to be able to make a difference in such a way. The people were truly grateful, and I did more dentistry than I would in a month of dental school! I was truly humbled and brought to tears at times to realized how fortunate I am to live in the United States with my family and have every opportunity I could imagine at my fingertips. We are so blessed.

Cake, then brush your teeth!

Look how adorable Austin was as a baby... Oh wait... that's not Austin, that's KENT. And Kent wants cake. Which he deserves since it is his birthday. We wish we could see you and yours more often, but we are sending you wishes for a relaxing and fun birthday. Hugs to you all. We love you Kent.

Well. Well. Well.

I could be wrong, but if I had to guess I'd say somebody was dreaming of a BLUE Christmas and Birthday that year! But then, who wasn't right? We hope you have a WONDERFUL birthday today Kalyn. We know you're spending endless hours these days working on your blog, building your nest egg, safety net, empire, which means you won't have to work so hard later... ...VERY SMART...but we hope you'll take time today for some deep breaths...and a big slice of SUGAR. We love you. Have an AMAZING day.
Let's see...who else could be having a birthday? Gee...who could it be...here are a few hints...she's a DARLING MOM...DARLING GIRL...I'm sure an AMAZING WIFE...and she's someone we don't get to see NEARLY enough. Oh...she also happens to be wearing a BIG ORANGE CROWN in the picture. Yes, Tori, We hope you have a WONDERFUL birthday. We love you.

Birthday Summer 2007 Continues:

Today is Austin's 4th birthday! At least I think it's his fourth. That means he's entitled to FOUR TIMES THE FUN today. If he wants he can eat FOUR slices of cake. (But, that might give him a tummy ache.) He can open a present in FOUR seconds. Rip that paper. He can make FOUR wishes when he blows out his candles. And he can stay up FOUR MINUTES past his bedtime. Enjoy your birthday Austin. As you can see turning FOUR has its advantages. We love you.
