Fun Times with Cali Kids

We had so much fun with Jeff, Erin and the girls when we visited last week.

Fun in the sun

We've been super busy this week:

The Living Desert Zoo near Palm Springs
(Jeff was sad it is still peak golf season, so it's >$200/round.
Maybe in July.)

My new favorite beach: La Jolla Shores...It is FanFreakinTastic.
I could live there if I had an extra million or two laying around.

Big Milestone for Morgan & Lauren

Morgan and Lauren at Back to School Night.
They got to meet their teacher and the 28 other kids in their class...
That's right, 30 kids in their class

At their school Kindergartner's get to eat lunch in the cafeteria.
I think they expect a lot out of a 5 year old (they have to memorize their lunch
number, serve their own food, and navigate their tray across
the room without spilling)

Their teacher, Mrs Provencher.
She has been teaching in her classroom for 13 years

And not to forget Paige. She didn't start school, but she is
super cute...

Fun at the Willey House

The Willey house has been busy trying to get ready to move to California, but we have also had some fun lately too...

Morgan and Lauren turned 5!!!

We went bowling for their party and it was a blast.

They are Graduates!

Morgan and Lauren turn five on their "golden" birthday!! We love you and hope you have a "Princess" day!! Who would have thought that a twofer deal would be sooooo fun! They always keep you smiling.....

Meet Paige Willey

Weight: 8 lbs

Height: 20 inches

Mo and Lo go BOWLING!!

Morgan had to pick out a different color ball each time it was her turn to bowl.




She is very particular about the position her ball could be in on the stand. She had to line up the finger holes each time until they were just right.

Once the ball was lined up correctly, she would leave the ball on top of the stand...






She would go back about 10 feet....

Get a running start...














... and then push the ball as hard as she could.

FYI: It is apparently very important to stand on one foot like a flamingo in order to get the ball to go "Super Fast"


Lauren did not want any help carrying her ball to the lane...
I was sure she would drop it on her foot...




She would RUN the ball to the ball stand ....







...and throw it on and push it as hard as she could







She would then watch to see how many pins she knocked down.

Morgan had 2 strikes and 1 spare
Lauren (or as the 16 year old employee spelled it "LARAN") wasn't as lucky with only 1 spare.

Both, however, beat my sister Kari!! (to Kari's credit, she was the only one who bowled without bumpers)
