This is not a Political Announcement.

Today Bradley's college hosted Senator Barack Obama, and I was lucky enough to get to go see him. I had my big camera with me and just as I was about to take the first picture I realized my battery was DEAD. So, these pictures were all taken with my phone so they're not the best.See the guy in the dark suit, with the wire behind his ear? There were about a ZILLION guys like that. They were all talking into their sleeves.
Here he comes. I'm getting smashed about now by people pushing me to get a better shot. One lady literally jumped on my back while I was kneeling down.
Right after I took this picture I got to shake his hand. He was incredibly nice, and SKINNY.
He spent a LOT of time shaking hands and speaking with as many people as he could.
There were TONS of people squished into the quad of the college. Now, I mentioned that this was not a political announcement, but I will say this: after hearing him speak and answer questions, if he was elected and was able to do the things he says he will do as President (that's a big if for ANY candidate with Washington basically broken), our country would be in GREAT SHAPE.

It Finally Came

I am now an author. :) I sent my blog to blurb.com and with a little work, it's now a book. I will be doing this every year (or maybe 6 months, depending on how blog happy I get). It's fun to look at and makes easy family history.
As for my blog, it's pretty much me trying to make the stay-at-home life of an educator's wife look a little exciting. :) If anyone wants an invite, let me know. (Us Drapers are a little crazy about security sometimes.) I won't feel bad if you don't ask for an invite, it will just make me feel popular if you do. Ha ha. Glad to hear Kara has a blog. It's fun too look at. Way cute pictures on the side. Mine is more the boring, no music kind. :)

Draper Update

Here's what the Drapers have been up to:

Soccer (Kenz), basketball (Mason), standing (Sadie), Seinfeld (still a favorite of D & Ang), sledding (the kids), freezing (mostly me), not sleeping(Camrie and Sadie and that makes D & Ang too), school (D's back at it, Kenz is queen of the school, Mason is mastering Xs and cursive, and Rylie is the nicest kid in pre-school), blogging (I made a book out of my 2007 blog - pictures when it arrives. I'm a bit excited.), movies (too many to name that we watch on DVD but we saw Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, National Treasure 2, and Veggie Tales - Pirates who don't do Anything - in an actual movie theater - did you catch the theme?), Wii (Wii're addicted), and just hanging out.

brayden's letter

Hey family,
Im in my new area, and it is a blast. my new address is 215 silver grove way NW calgary, AB, T3B 4M3 and I'm exspecting some letters. we live with the pitchers (members) they are really cool they treat us very well. I'm on a three leg and it's because of an odd number of missionaries in the mission. that kinda stinks, because I sleep on a blow up bed. but it's better then my last bed in golden. My companions are elder pratt from connecticut he is pretty cool. he is the middle kid of 3 boys, he has been out for 9 months. and elder frazee from seattle i love him he is so cool. he is the oldest of 4 kids two bros, and 1 sis, he has been out for 16 months.
It is colder here because of the wind, that stinks. The work here is dead and there is not alot happening, so we are working extra hard.
Mom yes i loved the money t-shirts they are awesome. We haven't found a lot of oppurunities for sevice yet but we are trying.
It is great that nate and sarah are moved in yeah!! church is alot different. since we cover two wards, we had to split up and go to different meetings. well that's it for this week I'm loving this area even though it is cold and not a lot of snow but its going to be fun.
love you all peace out.
Elder Denny

Sundance 2008 - Rachel

This is who Rachel hung out with during the blackout in Park City. It's Dylan Walsh from the show Nip/Tuck. She loves that show so it was exciting to see him. Rand, Rachel said that she was disapointed as well that she didn't see her lover Will Smith, but "Sean McNamara" will do!

1969 was a VERY good year!

A VERY good year indeed. Just look at that gorgeous blond bouffant. If that doesn't say, "Hello world. My name is Sandee, and I just spent two hours ratting and curling my hair, do you dig it?" then I don't know what does. And while we doubt you'll spend quite that much time ratting and curling your hair today (38 years later) we do hope you'll still be saying, "Hello world. My name is Sandee, and today is MY birthday. Now let's get on with the party." Yes, let's make 2008 a VERY good year. A VERY good year indeed. We love you Sandee. Happy birthday!

Death of Norma's Sister

We wanted to let people know that Norma's older sister, Georgia Becher died on Wednesday January 19. She was 89 years old and had live in Cody Wyoming for many years. Here is the obituary from the Cody Enterprise:

Georgia Becher, 88, of Cody died Jan. 19, 2008, at West Park Long Term Care Center.

Georgia was born to Fletcher “Denver” and Lueretta Williams on Feb. 22, 1919, in Sheridan. She learned about hardships and difficult times at a young age while helping her dad herd cattle and breaking horses on a homestead in the Powder River breaks of southeast Montana.

Georgia attended the LaBrea Indian School for a short time before the family moved to Sheridan so their four daughters could be closer to school.

She met her husband Al Becher in Long Beach, Calif., in 1946 and they were married at his brother’s home Sept. 12, 1947. They moved to Wyoming in 1951 and lived in Cody since 1953.

Georgia helped and enjoyed the senior center and felt Cody was a good place to live and enjoy friends.

She is survived by her husband of Cody, sisters Lucille Thompson of Moorcroft, Norma Denny of Bountiful, Utah, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Vera.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Rev. Lee Wisroth officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

SNOW--SNOW--SNOW!!!

Cooper, Sophie, Morgan, & Lauren----ready for sledding! I HATE sledding!!
Great hill at the Brezoff's.
I LOVE sledding!
ME TOO!
Nothing quite like hot chocolate and toast [cheetos too] after sledding!

I Can't Win

I thought I would share this little story with you (true of course) and hope that it might put a smile on your face.

It went down this morning something like this:

Me: Are you hungry Cam?
C: Yes.
Me: What would you like to eat?
C: Waffles
*Waffles made (because there are no toaster waffles in the house), cut, and syruped.
Me: Here you go Cam.
C: I don't like waffles!
Me: You need to eat your waffles. You asked for them, you eat them.
C: Meanie.

Cake, then brush your teeth!

Look how adorable Austin was as a baby... Oh wait... that's not Austin, that's KENT. And Kent wants cake. Which he deserves since it is his birthday. We wish we could see you and yours more often, but we are sending you wishes for a relaxing and fun birthday. Hugs to you all. We love you Kent.

SUNDANCE 2008

Me, Pam, Aly, Kristen, and Rachel headed up to Sundance today for our annual stalker fest. When we went last year we saw - P Diddy, Christian Slater, Anthony Hopkins, Camryn Manheim, Kevin Bacon, John Cusac, Screech, Adam Brody, and Wynona Ryder. We were so ready to see tons of celebrities this year, but luck was not really on our side. I guess we weren't in the mood to be total stalkers. We usually wait in the crowds to catch the celebs coming out of the theaters, but it was really cold this year.

Can you spot the celebrity?

It's Jack Black

If any of you watch the E! Network, here is Giuliana Rancic (the host of many shows) and her husband bill (The Apprentice). Bill is the one with his back to us.

Here we are! (Rachel was taking the picture, I think my mom has one with Rachel in it that we'll post along with Rachel's celebrity encounter she had)

The only other person we saw was Kim Kardashian running across the street. She hopped in a car before I could get a picture. (Not that she is famous for anything of substance). Oh well, there's always next year!

It really is a girl!

We had our 3D ultra sound today and it was pretty neat! Now if we could just pick a name out. :)

Here is a picture of her face all squished. It was pretty cool to see so much detail! We got it all on video and you can see her yawn and hicup.

Here is her legs and hand.

Here is her skinny back! She still needs to gain some weight!

Here are her feet.

Here is the bottom of her foot - so far she has only 10 fingers and 10 toes.

Here is her foot on her forehead - she is quite the gymnist!!

Here is her hands pressed together

We got a ton of pictures - I just thought I would share a few. She wasnt super cooperative when it came to the face shots!
Cooper arrives at our house----hiding his haircut!! I think his Mom made him wear the hat.

Help! Help! My Dad tried to give me a haircut, but I wouldn't hold still!
I HATE HAIRCUTS!
THANKS KRISTEN FOR SAVING THE DAY!
