One day Edgar met Eula. He was crazy about her.
Now look what's happened. There are a million of us.
Well OK, not a million. But a LOT. Never fear, this will help us all keep in touch.
No, this isn't Garrett, or Kent, or any of the Howell kids admiring their new little baby girl. This is JON admiring the gorgeous little Andrea. What could be better on your birthday than a reminder of what had to be one of the happiest days of your life? Well here's to another happy, happy day...today! Have a blissful birthday Jon. We love you.
First of all, I'd like to know where the nickname "Stachie" came from, and second I must say that is a really really cool picture. Anyway, I doubt you'll be on an air mattress going down a river in cutoffs today (they're all frozen solid right?) but I do hope you take a little time out from the busy life of a dental lab owner and just CHILL, (followed of course by a slice of cake).

Tonight I happened upon The Making Of Sweetwater Rescue: The Willie and Martin Handcart Companies. I remembered this is the documentary that all the Howell's got scruffy-faced for. And just look who I found during the program. The program was very interesting and I was freezing just watching it. I was wrapped in a blanket and drinking some warm tea just watching it. The filming looked like an amazing experience, but definitely not a warm one. (Sorry for the picture quality.)

Don't you just love my new dress!! [does it look familiar to anyone!]
"MMMM"--beaters at Grandma's, Heather and Kara loved them!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!

This is all of us on the last day of filming. It was fun but very cold. The movie will be shown on PBS in October and I will try to let you all know what day so you can see it. i can't guarantee that you will see any close shots of any of us, but they did film quite a few with c couple of us. I hope some of them make it to the final cut. I think they will show it between conference sessions in October too. It is the 150 anniversary of the Willie and Martin Handcart rescue in October. Poor Brandon shaved just a week earlier thinking he would not be able to make the filming...I am still glad that he was. (even though he looks about 12 years old) The director personally told Garrett and Jane that they will definitely be a part of the movie because she is pregnant and they taped a lot of special scenes with only them. That is cool.
What an experience!! Glad we did it.
Keep you posted on the dates it will air.
Janet

For those of you that don't know... Jon, Garrett, Brandon and I are going to be extras in a movie in January about the handcart pioneers. They asked the men to grow out their beards and hair until they film! As you can see the Howelss are getting pretty hairy!
