Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Ostler!

Yesterday was a wonderful day with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ostler, and the entire Ostler gang. We all enjoyed the luncheon (about 65 of us) followed by the reception. There was dancing, cake smearing, more dancing (even break dancing by Ethan), lots of gorgeous kids, and lots of fun. Apologies to Kate (who was also there and looked gorgeous) but I got just two very blurry pictures of her. And we missed you too Ben! Big congrats A & S.

This is not a Political Announcement.

Today Bradley's college hosted Senator Barack Obama, and I was lucky enough to get to go see him. I had my big camera with me and just as I was about to take the first picture I realized my battery was DEAD. So, these pictures were all taken with my phone so they're not the best.See the guy in the dark suit, with the wire behind his ear? There were about a ZILLION guys like that. They were all talking into their sleeves.
Here he comes. I'm getting smashed about now by people pushing me to get a better shot. One lady literally jumped on my back while I was kneeling down.
Right after I took this picture I got to shake his hand. He was incredibly nice, and SKINNY.
He spent a LOT of time shaking hands and speaking with as many people as he could.
There were TONS of people squished into the quad of the college. Now, I mentioned that this was not a political announcement, but I will say this: after hearing him speak and answer questions, if he was elected and was able to do the things he says he will do as President (that's a big if for ANY candidate with Washington basically broken), our country would be in GREAT SHAPE.

It Finally Came

I am now an author. :) I sent my blog to blurb.com and with a little work, it's now a book. I will be doing this every year (or maybe 6 months, depending on how blog happy I get). It's fun to look at and makes easy family history.
As for my blog, it's pretty much me trying to make the stay-at-home life of an educator's wife look a little exciting. :) If anyone wants an invite, let me know. (Us Drapers are a little crazy about security sometimes.) I won't feel bad if you don't ask for an invite, it will just make me feel popular if you do. Ha ha. Glad to hear Kara has a blog. It's fun too look at. Way cute pictures on the side. Mine is more the boring, no music kind. :)

It really is a girl!

We had our 3D ultra sound today and it was pretty neat! Now if we could just pick a name out. :)

Here is a picture of her face all squished. It was pretty cool to see so much detail! We got it all on video and you can see her yawn and hicup.

Here is her legs and hand.

Here is her skinny back! She still needs to gain some weight!

Here are her feet.

Here is the bottom of her foot - so far she has only 10 fingers and 10 toes.

Here is her foot on her forehead - she is quite the gymnist!!

Here is her hands pressed together

We got a ton of pictures - I just thought I would share a few. She wasnt super cooperative when it came to the face shots!

Andrew's Getting Married to Sara!

You read correctly, Andrew J Ostler is engaged to be married to Sara Lucinda Potter on February 8, 2008, in the Los Angeles Temple. Some of you have already met her at Ben's Farewell, but for the benefit of those who haven't, here's how we met. My Uncle Brian on my Dad's side introduced me to her almost two months ago, and we started e-mailing back and forth nearly every day. We found out that we had a lot in common and could relate with each other in so many ways. I went to California with Jake and Ben on a trip to visit some of my Aunts and Uncles on my Dad's side and the last few days of the trip were spent almost entirely with Sara and her family. We both love each other so much and are so happy and excited for our future life together. We will be having a ring ceremony in California after the sealing in the temple, as well as a reception in Utah, which is going to be on a date to be announced in the future, but it should be around the 19th of February. We'll be living in Utah after we get married, but we're not 100% sure as to exactly where, but we might live in Ephraim for the first couple years. There's a picture at the top of Sara and I when she came to visit for Ben's Farewell.

Love,

Andrew and Sara

Rocketman Gunther!

And they're off! Yesterday was the annual South Pasedena track meet with all the elementary schools participating. Gunther ran in the relay and the 50 yard dash. (Note the mix of kids in the pictures. Their school is incredibly diverse which I think is wonderful.)
Gunther starts to pull ahead. He is really, really fast. You should see him run.

Gunther turns on the turbo, just in case any of the other boys get the idea that they can beat him. Are those flames? And on the victory stand. He finished the meet with two gold medals around his neck. Nice footwork Gunther. We're proud of you. He also received an award in front of the school yesterday for RESPECT which was as wonderful as his finishes at the track meet. Sorry I don't have a picture of that.
