Ben has been working on the construction of the Kansas City Temple and thought that my Dad would enjoy some pictures of it. I thought they may be others out there that would enjoy these as well. I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!!

Help needed

So D and I are heading to Philadelphia the end of June.  I will have 6 days of play while D has some work intermixed with the play.  :)  What I'm wondering is - what should we do and where should we go?  Of course we will see a Phillies game and a Yankees game, but I would love some ideas on where to go to see some history or eat good food, or anything cool to do.

So, anyone been around Philly or surrounding areas?

Proposing a New Tradition: The Edgar and Eula Denny Memorial Picnic

I'm proposing we start a new tradition:  The Edgar and Eula Denny Memorial Picnic.  This would be on a set date each summer, and would be a time to invite all the family on both sides, plus any others who also knew mom and dad and might enjoy spending a day with our family.

I'm proposing we have it on the third Saturday in August each year.  That's close to their wedding anniversary, it's usually the weekend before school starts and before Memorial Day so people probably won't be going out of town, and it's a date that pretty much is guaranteed to have warm weather.  I know we can't get a date that will work for everyone, and this probably isn't an event that most out of town people would be able to fly in for and I'm sorry about that, but I still think a lot of people would enjoy the day.

I would reserve a park pavillion (possibly the same place where we had the 50th wedding anniversary party) and take care of invitations.  We would have it in the same place every year.  It would just be pot-luck, maybe with Dennys providing paper goods and drinks.

What do you think?
