JAPAN Disaster relief

Hello family,

I have received many messages from you all wondering how I am and if i was affected. Thank you for your prayers and concern. I am okay and safe, Okinawa did not get affected however I am currently in Naval Air Base Atsugi, Japan and i am involved in the humanitarian efforts to help evacuate and support the Japanese people. United States Forces Japan full focus is on this disaster as is the whole worlds eyes. I was able to fly into the affected area today and it took my breath away, it is the most disasterous thing i have ever seen. All natural disasters are terrible and devastating but this one really hits home for me because i live in Japan and I am part of the military's support for the mission.  I am here taking recon photos so that we can determine how to help the best and i am also coordinating media support. For example i am taking out fox news reporter Aaron Housely tomorrow and we are coordinating with CNN's Anderson Cooper to come out with us on missions. It is my job to tell the story of this disaster and the result of people seeing my photos or stories could determine if they help donate or not. I ask simply that you focus extra prayers and blessings to those of Japan affected by this monumentous disaster. I also ask that if you haven't already donate in someway to the relief foundations supporting this event. It doesn't have to be money, it can be an old pair of shoes, i know we all have a couple to many clothes that you can afford without.

This first image is a crew chief over looking the disaster, completely over welmed with what he saw. He could not put words on his feelings.

This is Sendai, Japan, not a post card city anymore. Imagine if this was your neighborhood.

My point of this post was not to make you feel sorry for anyone, just share what is going on on the other side of the world. For updates on what the Marine Corps is doing to support this disaster, go to my commands facebook f=page, III Marine Expeditionary Force, it has hourly updates that have accurate stats of what the military is doing to help and will have my photos and stories of this event. Thanks for your time. Stay well and hoep you are all doing well.
