Elder Ostler

Just an update on our missionary. He is doing great and seems to be thriving as a missionary. He spent nearly three weeks at the MTC and loved it there. Including the food! He arrived in Pittsburgh a week ago yesterday and spent a night at the mission home there. We got a letter and picture from them yesterday. We got a letter from Andrew today and he is in Olean, New York, which is about 4 hours away from Pittsburgh. Not quite as far north as Stewart but up there. His companion is from Las Vegas. It was 9* there this morning and they have a bunch of snow he says. brrrrrrr. It is a very spread out mission and he will be in a car the whole time and on foot when they run out of miles. It is a tracting mission as his President told him! Any how, I mainly wanted to share his address. Missionaries love mail. He will also have email by next week. Love, Val

One of My Favorites...

This picture is absolutely priceless to me (I only wish Ang were in it for the Ultimate Family Photo)! Ang took this of us on my birthday last week at my parent's house in SJ.

I love it because it shows every person's personality to the T. I'm making fun of the whole situation, Cam's looking around to see what's going on, Rylie's throwing a fit because she doesn't want to be in the shot, Mason's looking a little smug (like he knows something sneaky's going on that you should be aware of), and Kenz is the Beauty Queen of all America that is ready for any picture you might want to snap off.

I love it!

Stu's letter and new address

Hello all of you wonderful people. Yes i was transferred sorry i didn't get a chance to write you and let you know my new address but moving into another area that is about 30 minutes from Canada is pretty overwhelming and exciting and a long task. i'm in a small town named St. Albans VT it is way at the top northeast part of Vermont. I was kind of disappointed to get the dreaded phone call and get transferred mainly because i had 5 thanksgiving dinners all lined up for me and Elder Jorgensen. when i arrived at my new area my companions name is Elder Nicholas he is from Chicago. He only had 1 dinner lined up. i was quite upset with him about that. again like Elder Jorgensen i've served around Elder Nicholas in my past areas so it's not really a scary or new experience being with him. he is a funny laid back hard workin' missionary. who loves joking around. i think we're probably a lot a like. Anyways things here are going well Thanksgiving was definitely different being with people i didn't know at all. we ate over at the Branch Presidents house so of course they welcomed me with open arms and just to answer your question mom yes i was my usual self i'm not exactly a shy quiet person anymore. my Apartment is huge i do enjoy it. Dad and Nate get this the shower head is actually high enough that i don't have to squat down or lean or hunch or bend or anything i just stand there and the water is still above my head. i love it. the only one in the mission i think. things here are definitely cold though. the other day we went tracting in 10 degree weather and it was windy and snowing and brr... i'm not exactly a huge fan of this place already. ha ha ha just kidding i am having a lot of fun and we are finding a lot of new people to work with and infact. there is a family and another man that the elders have been working with for 3 months and they have never been invited to baptism so i think that is going to be the first thing i do when i meet them... okay so maybe not the first thing but me and Elder Nicholas prayed and decided that they really need to invitation put in front of them so they know why we are here and what the goal is. i'm healthy and strong and holy cow are wool socks expensive. i had no idea. the only ones that i can find are like 8 bucks a pair. Mom Help what should i do. do i buy them for that much or do i try to make my own i don't know. that's crazy expensive though right? anyways thank you all for all of your love and support i better be off now other poeple are waiting for the computer and that is really all that i have to say. oh wait you wanted my new addressElder Denny55 high st. #5St. Albans, VT 05478-1618good thing i remember that, i want some packages. ha hathanks again for everything everyone. especially MOM and DADLove Ya lots,Elder Denny

(Sorry about the red eyes on Rylie. My photo program doesn't have a setting to fix that. I'm going to check into Picasa2. Mason and Camrie were reluctant models.)

stu's letter for the week

hello to everyone out there, you are all awesome. i'm not very happy right now. Last night i got the dreaded phone call. and i'm TRANSFERED. AHHHHHHH!!!! i don't really enjoy being transfered simply for the reason that i must pack. i don't mind leaving people i don't mind going to a new challenge or a new area with totally different problems. but i'm not exactly a fan of packing. So this week went really well, i don't remember if i told you that we set another date with a lady named Deb. she is a JW. and she has been wanting to get baptized for quite sometime we just wouldn't do it for her because she wasn't ready to stop being a Tattoo Artist. which is really weird she doesn't have any tattoo's but she is an amazing artist. Also me and Elder Jorgensen have been participating in some service at one of the local high schools, we've been building the stage set for the play that they're going to perform. so on Saturday we got the opportunity and privilege to go to that play and watch our set in real live action. they students did a really night job. and the play was a huge success. We also found some new people to work with. Brad and Sheena. they are a young couple that are facing a lot of strife and are really being tried. the day that we walked up to their door, they had just had a huge dog fight between Sheena's dog and Brad's Brother's dog. and so they were a bit unsettling. but we set up an appointment with them and they happily accepted. we went back and taught them and are going to go back Tomorrow. (well not me but Jorgensen and New comp)I hope that all becomes a success there as they continue to teach them. Well i best be gettin' to packin' i've got a lot of stuff to do still i've got a lot of good bye's to be saying and a lot of cleaning along with packing. (hopefully i'll be able to get rid of a lot of crap!!) Anyways i love you all and hope all is well and that you are all striving to be the best people that you can. that being awesome like i know you are. Much Love, Elder Stuart J. Denny

A Note From Peni

I am a little slow getting this posted to the blog, but I received a nice note from Norma's daughter Peni after we sent her the $50 from Denny Family Fund when her grandaughter was killed. Here is what she wrote:

Dear Kalyn,

Please thank the Denny clan for the money gift. Sometimes the house seems too quiet and then we remember why. We always knew when Willow was around. Dmitri is keeping busy being a good dad and working. Time heals - we are so grateful for the Gospel. We could feel the impact of everyone's prayers. Please Share our gratitude.

Love,
